• Salary: $56,253.60 per annum less all deductions required by law, paid bi-weekly. (This salary is inclusive of holiday pay and/or any overtime hours worked by the employee.)

• Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time: 30 hours per week.
• Benefits: discounted hotel stays rates as per availability. Shall be entitled to participate in the company benefit plan made available by the Hotel, premium paid by the employer. Duty meal discounts in the hotel restaurant. Employee may be eligible for bonus maximum up to 10% of annual wage depending on the company’s business performance in that particular calendar year. Dry cleaning facilities of work attire subject to hotel policy.

Education: non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of industry experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Report to the Director of Catering and Conference Services and the Hotel General Manager on a day-to-day basis for all operations matters.
Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:
Administrative coordination of entire sales department, providing support to all sales managers and Director of Sales. Support includes typing, word processing, faxing, photocopying, corresponding to clients, document creation, phone coverage, and on time completion of daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
Initiate contracts to clients on behalf of sales managers/director.
Handle client calls and follow-up on requests on behalf of sales managers/director.
Coordinate hotel collateral for sales staff.
Participate in client functions, Hotel’s client events, and in select trade shows as required.
On Q data input and upkeep and training of new staff on the on Q program.
Develop and maintain filing system for all accounts.
Coordinate and facilitate mailings and fax blitzes.
Provide support to these mailings with follow-up calls to clients.
Distribution of mail to sales staff and rest of hotel.
Responsible for ordering weekly sales supplies and delivery to office.
Responsible for general office maintenance, equipment etc. in the division.
Promote the Hotel’s catering and event services, by producing new accounts, and maintaining existing accounts.
Assist in the development of the marketing plan and budgets for the assigned catering sales segments.
Assist the Director to develop Monthly Sales Action plans, in advance of each month.
Participate in Weekly/Monthly meeting with the Director to review budget, and sales activity and productivity achievement.
Generate budgeted revenue targets for the catering division.
Evaluate client potential prior to confirming rate so as to maximize the profitability of the division.
Conducting qualified appointment sales calls and ensuring that all sales leads are responded to well within the mandated time frame.
Meet with respective clients.
Conduct and review client surveys.
Solicits guest feedback and alerts the General manager, Director of Sales to all opportunities for the improvement of the division.
Participate in the hotel’s community activities, employee functions and guest events where possible.
Design market research questionnaires.
Act as spokesperson for the division in absence of the catering Director.
Answer written and oral inquiries.
Maintain and manage digital database.
Consult with clients after sale to provide ongoing support.
Ensures all sales files and property are secured at close of each business day.
Perform other tasks as designated by the Director of Sales.
