• Location: 108 Chestnut St, Toronto, ON, M5G 1R3

• Salary: $36.25 per hour less all deductions required by law, paid bi-weekly.

• 1 vacancy

• Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, 33 to 38 hours per week.

• Benefits: discounted hotel stays rates as per availability. Extended health benefit, premium paid by the employer. Meal discounts in the hotel restaurant.

• Employment conditions: Must be available to work early morning, morning, day, evening, weekends, and holidays as per business needs.

Job requirements

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of food industry experience.

Personal suitability: Accurate, Organized, Team player, Ability to multitask

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods, Large workload

Job Duties and Responsibilities

·        Analyze budget to boost and maintain the restaurant’s profits.

·        Develop budget to determine cost of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen and cleaning supplies.

·        Evaluate daily food handling operations.

·        Modify food preparation methods to support the restaurant budget.

·        Organize and maintain inventory.

·        Monitor revenues to determine labour cost.

·        Supervise staff and Train junior staff while leading/instructing individuals.

·        Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations.

·        Ensure health and safety regulations are followed.

·        Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies.

·        Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities.

·        Manage events.

·        Participate in marketing plans and implementation.

·        Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, restaurant and food service area.

·        Assist cooks/chefs with preparation of food orders in peak hours.

·        Any other duties as required per business needs.

Credentials: Safe Food Handling certificate

Security and safety: Basic security clearance
