Overview
The Club House is seeking an experienced and creative Head Chef to lead kitchen operations and oversee food preparation and culinary services in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for menu planning, supervising kitchen staff, maintaining quality standards, coordinating food preparation for restaurant and banquet services, managing food and labour costs, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with commercial kitchen experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain high culinary standards while managing daily kitchen operations.

· Other trades certificate or diploma in culinary arts, chef training, or a related field
· College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
· Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
Experience
· 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in commercial food preparation, kitchen operations, or culinary supervision in a restaurant, hospitality, or food service environment
· Experience as a chef, sous-chef, or in a similar culinary leadership role is considered an asset

Responsibilities and Tasks
The successful candidate will perform duties as follows:
Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities
Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
Estimate food requirements and food and labour costs
Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory
Supervise and coordinate the activities of chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff
Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
Create new recipes and menu items
Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food
Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets
Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
Requisition food and kitchen supplies
Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
Recruit and hire kitchen staff
Train staff in preparation, cooking, and safe handling of food
Ensure compliance with sanitation, food safety, and workplace health and safety standards
Coordinate kitchen operations for restaurant and event services
Monitor kitchen operations to ensure efficient workflow and consistent food quality standards
